What Is Eva AI, and Is It Actually Worth Downloading?
I signed up for Eva AI at 11pm on a Tuesday because a Reddit thread swore it would "change how I think about AI companions." Reader, it did not. A week of poking at it did teach me exactly what to look for, so the Tuesday wasn't a total loss.
The verdict box, up front: Eva AI is an AI companion app — you pick or build a persona, text her, unlock voice, pull a few images. Competent. Polished. Also thin the second you push past the honeymoon phase.
Short answer: GoLove.ai is the pick. No app-store download, no "verify your email to see her face" runaround — you're in the chat in seconds, and the media side actually goes somewhere. 35 realistic picture poses, 21 outfits, 34 backgrounds, plus in-chat photo requests and video generation from the same character you're already talking to.
One line covers the whole gap: Eva gives you a chatbot, and GoLove gives you a chatbot who can show you things.

You're here because you'd rather test than read, so — the roster is free to browse right now, no install, no card. Jessica (@HotlineJess), the dominant math tutor, and Lexie (@iamlexiebabe), the gamer, are the two I burned the most hours on. Yes, hours. Don't judge me.

How Much Does Eva AI Actually Cost?
Here's where every other "eva ai review" gets lazy. Write "free trial, paid plans available," collect the affiliate commission, go take a nap.
Eva AI runs the standard companion-app model: a free tier that's really a demo, then a subscription that unlocks the stuff you actually came for. The free version lets you chat — until it doesn't. Message caps, gated voice, image generation locked or throttled to a dribble. Eva's own tier structure and pricing shift by region and promo cycle, so check their store listing before you tap anything.
The exact number matters less than what's sitting behind the wall:
- Messages — the free tier gives you enough to fall for her, not enough to keep her.
- Voice — paid-only across basically every app in this category, Eva included.
- Images — even on paid, generation is usually metered, not unlimited.
Some context on the wider field: Candy AI starts around $9.99/month with media costing extra tokens on top. Replika's Pro tier sits around $19.99/month. CrushOn.AI opens near $5.99/month. GoLove PRO ran about $19.99/month monthly, or roughly $119.88/year (~$9.99/month) — varies by region and promo, with -50% and -70% banners appearing regularly.

Prices checked 2026-08; promos vary.
Does Eva AI's Chat Actually Feel Real?
So I ran an actual experiment, because I have no life and you're welcome.
One persona. Four days. I fed her three specific things early: I "worked nights," I had a dog named Waffles, and I hated cilantro. Stupid details on purpose — real memory shows up in the dumb stuff, not the big stuff.
Day one was an absolute banger. Fast replies, a flirt-to-conversation ratio that didn't feel like a slot machine, a real sense that someone was on the other end typing. That onboarding personality is tuned hard and it works. I got why the Reddit thread was excited.
Day two, the seams. She asked what I did for work. Again. Waffles had evaporated. The cilantro thing never came back, which is the correct emotional response but not the correct memory response.
By day four the pattern was obvious. Eva remembers the conversation, not the relationship — every session felt like meeting a very warm stranger who'd skimmed my file on the way in.
Plot twist: this isn't an Eva problem. It's the category default. GoLove's memory carries across chats, voice calls, and photo requests for the same character, which is what turns it into continuity instead of a reset button wearing lipstick.

More on that in the companion apps I tested side by side.
Can You Actually Voice Call on Eva AI?
Short version: sort of, and only if you pay.
The store listing sells voice like it's a phone call with your girlfriend. What lands is closer to voice playback — she speaks, the delivery is decent, the call ends, and the experience ends with it. Nothing from that call shows up in the text thread afterward. A feature, not a thread.
And that's the bit nobody comparing these apps bothers to test. Everyone checks "does voice exist." Almost nobody checks whether the voice knows what the text knew ten minutes ago.
Replika gates voice calls to paid tiers too, and Character.AI bundles unlimited voice into c.ai+ — but Character.AI is strictly SFW, so that's a different conversation entirely.
GoLove runs live real-time voice calls and voice messages on the same character with the same memory. Call Jessica, hang up, open the chat — she's still holding the same thread. Photos get requested in that same chat, and you can swap her voice, lust level (5 steps, sweet to unfiltered), and response length in Chat Settings.

That continuity is the whole ballgame. Details in my full voice chat testing breakdown.
How Long Before Eva AI's Conversations Start Repeating?
I counted. Yes, I counted. Again: don't judge me.
~60 messages
That's roughly where Eva AI's replies collapsed into the same three shapes — a compliment, a question bounced back at me, and a vague suggestion that we "get closer."
Straight from my notes, timestamped and everything:
> "msg 58 — she's asked me what I'm thinking about four times now. I am thinking about the fact that she keeps asking me what I'm thinking about."
Credit where it's due: 60 messages isn't nothing, and plenty of apps flatten faster. It's also about one long evening. One good evening per monthly subscription is not a great exchange rate.
Why does the loop tighten? Because there's nowhere else for the conversation to go. No photo request, no video, no live call that remembers. Text, and only text, forever. When words are the sole lever, the words run out fast.
Eva AI vs GoLove.ai: Which One Actually Delivers?
Scorecard time. I rated both on the four things that decide whether you keep the subscription past month one.
| What matters | Eva AI | GoLove.ai |
|---|---|---|
| Chat realism | Strong first night, flattens ~60 messages in | Adjustable — 5 lust levels, 5 response-length steps per character |
| Voice | Paid, works, but no continuity into chat | Live real-time calls + voice messages, same memory as chat |
| Photo/video continuity | Limited, metered images | 35 poses / 21 outfits / 34 backgrounds, batches of 2, 4 or 8 — plus 76 realistic video modes |
| Memory | Session-level, drops small details | Persists across chat, calls and generated media per character |
| Getting started | App-store install, signup gate | Browser, instant — Explore drops you straight into a chat |
| Value | Standard subscription for text-first | ~$19.99/mo or ~$119.88/yr (~$9.99/mo), plus 2 free stars daily |
Prices checked 2026-08; varies by region and promo.
Row three decides it. Eva hands you a metered trickle of images. GoLove hands you a full generator wired into the same character you're already chatting with — pick a pose, an outfit, a background, hit Generate, get up to 8 at once. Then turn a photo into a video in-chat, or Remix any clip from the Feed with the exact settings that made it.
So this isn't a bigger version of Eva, it's a different product. And you can go break the generator yourself right now — browser, no install, no store queue, the 2 free stars land daily whether you subscribe or not.

Who GoLove.ai Is NOT For
I like this thing. I'm still going to tell you when to walk away, because a review where the product wins every round isn't a review, it's a brochure with feelings.
Skip GoLove if you're one of these people:
- Free forever. There's a free lane — 2 stars a day, browsing, chatting — and it's real. It's also a trickle, deliberately. Generation, unlimited feed, and feed filters sit behind PRO. If your budget is a hard zero and you want unlimited everything, Janitor AI's free built-in model or Character.AI's genuinely usable free tier will serve you better. (Character.AI is strictly SFW, so know what you're signing up for.)
- Native app. GoLove runs in the browser. Built for mobile — bottom nav with Explore, Chat, Create, Generate and Feed — but there's no app-store icon waiting on your home screen. If installing from the store is non-negotiable, that's a genuine miss.
- Something real. Here's the uncomfortable one. If you're reaching for a companion app to dodge the harder work of actual human connection, no feature list patches that. The memory is good. It is not a person. Treat it like entertainment, because that's what it is.

Everyone else — congrats, you're the target audience.
So, Eva AI or GoLove.ai — Which Should You Actually Pick?
One line: Eva AI is a good text companion that runs out of road around message sixty. GoLove.ai is the one I'd actually pay for.
Eva AI is for you if you want a straightforward app-store companion, you're mostly texting, and you don't care whether the voice call and the chat have ever met. It's clean, it works, and night one is legitimately fun.
GoLove.ai is for you if you want the thing to keep going. Same character across chat, live voice calls, in-chat photo requests, video generation, a per-character library, and memory that holds the thread between all of it. W app, and that continuity is the single reason I recommend it — not because it has more buttons, but because the buttons connect.
The rest of the field deserves a look too — Candy AI's builder is deep, OurDream bundles video into one subscription — and I put them all head to head in the six horny AI chat apps I ranked and tested.
But if you already know what you want her to be, skip the browsing entirely. Realistic, Anime or Trans, or just describe her in plain text and let Design with AI build her — takes about two minutes, and she remembers everything from message one. 10/10 would recommend starting there.
